This European quality label guarantees that the breeding of animals for meat meets very strict requirements. For example, the Poulet Noir has a free range, and the chicken enjoys a plant-based diet consisting mainly of grain. The Poulet Noir may only be slaughtered after at least 81 days of foraging around the farm. A 12-week lifespan is still short, but it is at least 2.5 times longer than that of a supermarket chicken. Maybe just as well; the living conditions of these chickens are still appalling.
Poulet Noir is pure enjoyment! The long growth period and the plant-based diet ensure a chicken with firm, juicy and lean meat. Experts say that the taste is identical to "the chicken of the past", but we prefer to speak of it as nutty and very tasty. Eating Poulet Noir is also particularly good for you: the meat provides nutrients that contribute to a healthy body. Think of protein, zinc, B vitamins and iron. Reason enough to regularly put it on the table.
Nothing as versatile as chicken. And that also applies to Poulet Noir! Roast a whole chicken in the oven, or choose to grill on the barbecue. Don't feel like chewing? The fillets can be used in many dishes, but thanks to the excellent taste, simple preparation on the grill is sufficient.
