After the white mushroom, the Chestnut mushrooms are the most cultivated mushroom in the Netherlands. The Chestnut Mushrooms have a slightly nutty flavor. The brownish flesh is firmer than that of white mushroom.
Of all the small varieties, we find these organic chestnut mushrooms the best, with a full, earthy taste. They won't shrink too much if you cook them too - these proud veggies keep their shape. Chestnut mushrooms are delicious in salads or pasta dishes.
