Qvinterra riesling trocken 2019
A pure, biodynamic Riesling from Rheinhessen. Proud winner of the Proefschrift Wijnconcours
Riesling Qvinterra marks the beginning of one of the best dry Riesling series in Germany. The term Qvinterra stands for the five different soils that exist between Bodenheim and Nierstein. Expressive on the nose with citrus notes, grapefruit and pineapple, then a light spice with a hint of mint, a hint of caramelized sugar. On the palate, a mealy and soft structure, ripe pear and a little oxidized apple skin, the spice also comes through again, with a slightly smoky and smoky touch, you can feel the crunchiness, fresh acidity, great drinking pleasure.
The Kühling-Gillot winery is located in the east of Rheinhessen in Bodenheim and was created in 1970 by the marriage of Gabi Kühling and Roland Gillot. Daughter Caroline has run the estate since 2002 and her husband Hans Oliver Spanier is now responsible for making wine.
The warm soil at the top locations in the Roten Hang between Nierstein and Oppenheim gives the wines a certain glaze and charm, which, despite their strong body, always makes them accessible at an early stage.
